Through the Designer’s Eyes : Doris Pearlman on Accentuating Indoor/Outdoor Spaces

This story features Doris A. Pearlman, founder of Toll Brothers’
design partner Possibilities for Design, Inc., a nationally recognized,
award-winning, interior design firm based in Denver, Colorado.

Wondering what it is like to be an interior designer? Here is an inside look from our design partner Doris A. Pearlman.

Toll Brothers at Inspiration, based in Aurora, Colorado, was a very unique and memorable project for Doris and her team. This active adult community – with 360° views of the Rocky Mountains – gave them the tremendous opportunity to create intimate indoor/outdoor relationships for prospective buyers.

“From a model home merchandising perspective, we believe these models have been such a hit due to the breathtaking ‘Western Walls’ that allow for an abundance of light, good energy, large family gathering space, and incredible views of the Rockies,” said Doris.

The size of the great rooms posed a fun design challenge.

“We decided to simplify the living rooms to one sofa and two chairs, with an oversized coffee table that allowed for more conversation, TV viewing and relaxing with extraordinary views of Pikes Peak. As a result, we were able to greatly expand the visual furnishing space and create connectivity between the indoor and outdoor relationship. Potential buyers can now see this dazzling view the second they walk into the models,” said Doris.
