The Toll Brothers Colorado Division challenged local charities to decorate a room in one of their model homes, and provided each charity with $250 for supplies. The winner, Harmony HorseWorks, received the prize of $1,000 for its decoration of the Bella model home in Toll Brothers at Solterra.
Harmony HorseWorks is a sanctuary for special needs horses. Some horses can’t be ridden but can serve as companions and others are rehabilitated for light riding. The organization also offers specialized classes such as Equine Stress Control Therapy, a method for de-spooking horses, and Equestrian Performance Coaching for coaching fearful riders.
“As most people know, feeding horses is expensive,” says Barbara Wright, executive director of Harmony HouseWorks. “We are so grateful for the Toll Brothers donation. It is a big help in feeding our animals during these winter months.”
“Barbara was very creative in carrying out the equine theme to decorate the Bella model’s dining room,” says Charlie Bowie, Colorado Division President. “She incorporated great photos of their ‘spokeshorses’ into the design, too. This organization provides very important services to animals and people in our community.”
