Philadelphia area communities recently wrapped-up our third annual Holiday Food Drive to benefit Philabundance. Participating communities collected non-perishable food donations during the holiday season and beyond at our beautifully decorated model homes. We gathered a grand total of 1,452 pounds of food for Philabundance. Our communities in Bucks, Lower Montgomery, Philadelphia, Monroe, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties all joined in for this important event.
Food donations this year marked an impressive 80% increase over last year’s donations. We decided to extend our effort beyond the holiday season right through the end of January, as Philabundance sees a tremendous drop off in donations after the holiday season.
Philabundance is a nonprofit organization fighting hunger and malnutrition in the Delaware Valley. Currently serving 9 counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Philabundance was founded in 1984 and is the region’s largest food bank and food rescue organization. Philabundance provides a full plate of services to over 500 agencies operating Food Cupboards that help the needy.
