Toll Brothers’ talented interior design partners Design Line Interiors and CDC Designs contributed to this story.

Modern, elemental design choices are making waves in interior design this fall. As the calendar turns to another exciting season of fun festivities and family get-togethers, wow your guests with a new look for your space. Experts from Design Line Interiors and CDC Designs reveal the hottest interior design trends for 2017.

Luxury Finishes and Bright Whites

There’s nothing like having a home that expresses your individual style and is embellished with the modern luxury finishes that you adore. Design Line Interiors designers note that details such as full-height cabinetry, glass enclosed wine rooms, and chic industrial fixtures continue to stay on trend, so if this is your style preference, then it is about to shine!

Luxurious finishes and accents can draw the eye into any room. The classic look of clean, bright whites can be elevated to new heights by combining crown molding and paneling with antique mirrors or sophisticated wall coverings. Looking to add a pinch of pop? Designers are noticing a move toward incorporating artistic “zing” with porcelain tiles for floors or walls, both inside and out, that add flair to living space. Organic shapes combined with textured elements, like oversized tile and stone, book-matched marble, and quartzite create a lighter, more open feel that invites guests to enjoy your home in style.

Glass Elements

Floor-to-ceiling glass doors and railings are excellent solutions for dark entryways that could use a little natural light. Glass elements also look great as shower doors and in wine storage areas, which bring an understated sophistication to the space, with a touch of modern edge.

Earthy Woods

Designers agree weathered, light gray woods continue to flourish in home décor. There is a raw movement where wood with more natural textures are now surpassing the smooth, highly-polished woods of years past. Simple light and dark wood looks with little variation now include furniture, accessories, and even non-wood surfaces, like tile flooring.

Designers from CDC Designs note that when it comes to color, while warm woods are always a favorite option, the white kitchen cabinetry trend will continue to be favored in home décor. Inside tip: Keep your eyes peeled for a dove gray color, as it could become the new white as we continue into 2018.

Cabinetry

Kitchens are the heart of the home and cabinet choices allow homeowners to personalize this space. Toll Brothers Design Studios feature all of this season’s trending styles, include floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, floating shelves, contrasting cabinetry, and customized details. CDC Designs designers encourage the incorporation of glass-front cabinet doors to give the eyes a break from wall-to-wall cabinetry, and create display space for collectibles for a fresh look. For island cabinetry, choose a color or material that is distinctive from the rest of the kitchen, as it emulates the feel of an extraordinary piece of furniture within the room.

This season’s trends are filled with modern styles, and with just the right design concept, a few small changes can spruce up your home in no time! Stay tuned for our 2018 design preview.
